FAIR standards for astronomical data
2021-10-25, 21:30–22:00, Grand Ballroom

I present an overview of the "FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship", first published in 2016, and how they relate to astronomical data management. In particular, I will discuss the connection between the FAIR principles and IVOA standards, and how data management systems with these standards implemented are close to compliance. I will then look at what extra components are required to make astronomical data FAIR. Finally, I will give a case study of the All-Sky Virtual Observatory (Australia's node of the VO) and their implementation of the FAIR principles.
